Chips Are for Cookies Not People

Last night I watched the movie The Manchurian candidate. It really made me think and worry. In the movie, there were scientists who implanted computer chips into a group of military men. These chips allowed the people who installed them to add and delete information in the peoples memories. Sounds like something out of a science fiction novel. You may say, this will never really happen, but I beg to differ. My sister and her husband took their dog with them to Germany and in order to do so they had to have a chip inserted behind the dogs head with all of it's vital information. How long will it be before countries begin to say that you have to have a chip in your own head before you will be allowed to enter or leave a country. It sounds like a great idea, heck you could put your medical information, identification, credit card information, and criminal history all on this little device and it could be easily accessed by a machine. No longer would you have to worry about carrying money or credit cards, everything would be saved on your little chip. Maybe you could even unlock your car and drive it just by scanning it. My question is, what price would we pay for this convience? Is it possible that who ever installed these devices could control a humans thoughts and actions? Are we only a couple steps away from the mark of the beast?
